I was fortunate to secure this graduate role following the successful completion of my 1-year placement. During this time I was involved in the design of the fuel tank for a forthcoming motorcycle. Ultimately, I was involved in aspects of design and pre-production testing to ensure its suitability for mass production. I ensured a detailed knowledge of legislation and worked closely with suppliers throughout the development phase. -
Aug 2018 - Aug 2019
The role Co-team leader involved the general running of the team, ensured work was carried out on time, parts were ordered and paid for, budgets adhered to and maintained general upkeep within the team. 4th year group design project as Head of Aerodynamics. This involved learning complex car aerodynamics, understanding the effects on the FS car via CFD and wind tunnel data, designing composite parts to increase aerodynamic performance and then manufacturing using the Pre-preg autoclave process. Another key area of leading the team was managing the other engineering students in the design group: communicating the overall goals and guiding the team to produce the finished package.

Jul 2016 - Aug 2017
Following my passion for cars and motorcycles and combing my degree and interest in engineering, I secured a placement that specialised in the design of chassis components for Triumph motorcycles. I worked closely with the team on the Street Triple 765, designing, testing and improving parts. I was fortunate to gain vast expertise and had in-depth industrial training in the CAD software, PTC Creo to construct surface models. In response to my performance on the placement I was successfully awarded a sponsorship for the final year of my degree programme and I was offered a graduate job.
