Detection of high-energy transients with the space instrument SVOM/ECLAIRs Thesis co-funded by CNES and University Paul Sabatier, under the supervision of Jean-Luc ATTEIA, PI of the ECLAIRs instrument. Main activities during the thesis: Instrumentation: - Participation to the ECLAIRs instrument PFM test campaign, validation of decisions for the flight software, - Development of real-time instrument simulations using Python and C++ libraries Data Analysis: - Detection of transients from the raw ECLAIRs data, using an Anomaly Detection method via Variational Auto-Encoders ( Arcier et al. in prep. ) - Automatic classification of high-energy transients with a Random Forest algorithm. Science: - Study of ECLAIRs scientific performances for local X-ray transients (Arcier et al. 2020) and High-redshift GRBs (Llmas-Lanza et Arcier in prep. ) - Comparison of Binary Black-Holes mergers density rate with long Gamma-Ray Bursts density rate (Arcier et Atteia 2022). Other activities: - Co-Organiser of GAHEC's seminars. - Co-Organiser of the IRAP's PhD Day. - TP Patran/Nastran for 3rd year BSc students - Supervision of two M2-students and one L3-student Show less
