      I have worked in several roles at the Student Conservation Association (SCA) over the past four months, as both a crew leader and member. I am currently participating in my third position with the SCA. Our crew is tasked with developing and designing geospatial data collection protocols, as well as collecting that data. We work within the Sacramento District of the Army Corps of Engineers, and are assisting the Corps in managing their recreation resources surrounding 10 different project sites in Northern California. The data is intended to benefit the Corps by contributing to a more developed collective GIS for the Corps to better manage their assets and secure funding. In my first role, I co-lead an eight-member crew for one month in assisting the Blue Ridge Parkway National Park improve and rebuild trail and trail structures. In this role, My co-leader and I managed 52,800 feet of improved trail and 165 structures, such as retaining walls, benching, water bar maintenance/replacement, to bring trails back up to sustainable standards In my second role, I worked on a four-member crew to assist the Rocky Mountain National Park Trails department during the shoulder season. I assisted in constructing 200 feet of new trail, 60 feet of retaining wall, and maintained 26 miles of trails.
