Engagement: Research, develop and deliver a fully accessible interview toolkit exploring previously hidden voices of disabled children and young people, instigating service user centred scheme development. Additional responsibilities include extensive collaboration with the fundraising team to develop feedback for funders and future applications, as well as writing the end of year monitoring report for the Dept. of Health resulting in future funding for the charity. I also oversee the recruitment, training and independent management of research volunteers.Recruitment: pioneering Challengers’ recruitment strategy. To manage Challengers recruitment activities; primarily focused on the employment of Challengers play and youth workers. Last year Challengers recruited circa 300 new staff members using a variety of mediums including social media, online job boards, recruitment fairs, press and referral systems. In addition my role requires the co-management of a research project funded by the Department of Health. The project aims to develop a participatory framework that engages children and young people in decision-making exercises to ensure Challengers is meeting the requirement and needs of the service users.
