- Development of simulation models and preliminary design of the control algorithms of an electro-mechanical actuator for smart active inceptors, to be essentially used in a smart actuation system for H/C pilot inceptors, composed by four actuators interfacing the with collective, pedals, longitudinal and lateral cyclic inceptors, of a fly-by-wire H/C flight control systems.- Design of the closed-loop control laws algorithms for a simplex compact Electro-Mechanical Actuator (EMA) for aileron flight control surfaces. Development of a Data-Fusion function for motor speed feedback reconstruction combining signals coming from different sensors.- Project of control laws, firmware development and testing of a helicopter landing gear system. My main tasks have been: control laws synthesis and control logic design through Model-Based Design (MBS) of electro-mechanical actuators (extraction/retraction and nose wheel steering system), firmware development/implementation and testing activities. - Design of a 3-axis Optronic Platform payload for UAVs. My main tasks have been: innovative lightweight structure design, FOV and DRI analysis, LOS stabilization control system project through Model-Based Design (MBS), thermal management and vibration damping. - Definition of vision based control laws for autonomous landing UAVs. I acted both as a control laws designer through Model-Based Design (MBS) and as a developer of vision-based target identification algorithms. Finally, I worked on the definition of the video system requirements. -Definition of control laws through Model-Based Design (MBS) , development of condition monitoring, firmware implementation e testing of a fault-tolerant double-motor electro-mechanical actuator (EMA) for primary flight controls.-research on piezoelectric patches aimed both at their use as an actuator and as a sensor for health and usage monitoring systems (HUMS) .
