Program redesign and redevelopment from traditional low residency model to fully hybridized program model. This gave the learning community on the program a very different profile as relationships began on line through postings, wikis, blogs, etc and took on a face to face dimension during the residency. Along with reading and reviewing every portfolio in the program, I Initiated a variety of innovations to the traditional low residency model including fully developed electronic portfolio, electronic evaluations and feedback from evaluators. I also reviewed and eventually reorganized, the portfolio process at the College. Also developed a focused student teaching semester seminar working with all students who were doing their placements. My faculty position at AEI had a host of different dimensions. Essentially, I went into the field for a year with a group of twenty or so graduate and undergraduate students who were completing their programs in Environmental Education/liberal studies. We became a mobile learning community, a traveling school. We traveled in a converted school bus that I drove. We camped out every night and often covered five or six thousand miles in the course of the two semesters that made up our year. Our routes were variable but often started in Maine headed north to Newfoundland and made our way south and west over the next six months ending often in Utah. All courses were taught through experience and decisions on curriculum and many other areas were consensual. It was a rich and amazing experience with the American landscape, people and environment.
