I have had the pleasure of working with Ben at a small older people's charity for the past 2.5 years. I was also directly line managed by Ben, which was a brilliant experience of both personal and professional growth. Ben is an excellent person to work with and has an incredible communication style that can put anyone at ease. Owing to Ben's caring and committed personality and tenacious work ethic, he has risen up the ranks in a relatively short period of time at Alive and as Business Development Manager, is an instrumental part of shaping and furthering the charity's mission. Ben is able to think on his feet, come up with innovative and creative ideas to market the charity, thereby increasing visibility and expanding its positive impact footprint. As a leader, Ben has an excellent managerial style and his approach is nurturing and kind, whilst being goal-focussed. He always has the interests of his team in mind and prioritises mental health and wellbeing alongside productiveness. He is detail-oriented, has strong attention to detail and produces work of a high quality. Over the past 2.5 years of working together, Ben has become a cherished friend and I can vouch for him in both a professional as well as a personal capacity. He would be a true asset to any organisation and team.

I worked with Ben for two years for a small charity that supported care homes. Due to the size of the charity, it was important that all staff had initiative and flexibility as we were required to turn our hand to many jobs. Ben entered the role having no experience in the care or charity sector. Not only did he hit the ground running he became an essential part of the team, learning not only his role but taking it upon himself to research as much as possible about the people he was working with. At the very beginning of Ben's employment COVID hit. Working in a person-centred role with care homes at this time was exceptionally difficult both professionally and emotionally. Ben showed kindness, compassion, and understanding to both the customers and the team. From this difficult situation, we worked together to deliver some of the most significant impact for the charity to date, including winning two awards. I am yet to find something Ben couldn't get his head around and eventually excel at.
