I have joined the company as a warehouse operative in the duty of picking and packing and stock replenishment. I have achieved a forklift truck driving license and within a year time I have moved into the Goods In department. As a Goods In Operative in the food industry my daily responsibilities and tasks are:- Receive goods, book them on the system with careful records of quantity, use by date and batch codes and store them in the appropriate locations.- Sign off and keep records of paperwork. This is crucial in our work environment as we have hundreds of different suppliers and products imported from all over the world- Move and organize stock around the warehouse optimizing space for maximum efficiency- Report to Supply Chain for any damaged stock in transit, wrong delivered items and other relevant stock issues- Process returns and out of date write offs- Maintain Health and Safety procedures in the yard, making sure that H&S rules arefollowed, PPE is provided and worn and the workplace is in safe conditionsThe warehouse I work in is a very fast-paced and busy environment, we are receiving between 30 and 40 deliveries everyday therefore it is essential to work fast and react quickly to problems and unexpected circumstances.Out of the box thinking and problem solving are essential skills that I have developed in the past years thanks to this experience. I had this fantastic and exciting opportunity to take part in the 2012 London Olympics site set up. I have worked in a team of 3 as a builder/carpenter for private clients in modern town houses. We offered different tailored services at high standards such as home extensions building, floor and roof joists, refurbishments and general decorations jobs such as wall-paper fitting and wall painting. I have been doing this job since after I finished school in 2006 with a break in 2010-2011 when I have also worked as a window fitter for a company called Focus Windows. With this role I have widened my experience and learnt how to fit and install windows and handle safely and move glass units and window frames Show less
