I have known Ben Piacquadio for over 10 years now. Since the day I met him, he was always determined to want to see others succeed. He is engaged, supportive, witty, a true leader and someone who cares. He was my basketball coach, one of the first teams he's coached and all he wanted throughout the season was to see us progress every practice and game. No matter what the outcome of any season was, he was always proud of us. Eventually, I began to coach alongside Ben. Instead of treating me like an assistant coach, he wanted me to push myself to become a leader on the side of the court, just like he wanted for me while I was on the court. He is the reason why I became a head coach, with tables turning and him being my assistant coach, and was able to achieve an undefeated season. Continuously throughout the years, I have seen Ben improve and expand the athletic department at St. Benedict's. He wanted more people to get involved, he wanted more people to love the sport like we all did when we were younger. He extended the athletic program by adding a new sport, volleyball. This has gotten so many more of the kids to join sports and more parents to support and become more involved. He has remodeled the gym, used his own hands to paint the gym and make it look brand new, and even got in many donations to be able to get new things for the gym, like the scoreboard and so much more. Thanks to Ben, school spirit has gone through the roof. Overall, he has built a new experience and showed a new light to everyone at St. Benedict's and those apart of the program. Sometimes he may think that things have gone unnoticed, many of us, including me, have seen how hard he has worked over the years to build something amazing.

Ben Piacquadio is an amazing young man and a fantastic leader. He takes great pride in his work and his passion for the school is evident. He has made tremendous improvements in the Athletic Program at St. Benedict's School - from spearheading fund-raisers to improve the facilities and equipment, to improving player safety and parent communication, and adding new sports programs every chance he gets. He takes on jobs that no one else wants to do, because he cares about the students. Ben is a born leader, a fantastic coach and teacher, and a wonderful role model for his students. I highly recommend Ben for any educational, athletic or leadership position.
