For the last year I have been managing the swing shift at North Sails Minden where I have been constructing some of the biggest and most technical sails in the world. It has been a big challenge to move from finishing sails to managing a team of 5 people to work as efficiently as possible while still staying focused on my own tasks but one which I have very much enjoyed and excelled at. During my at North Sails Minden we have worked on many exciting and complicated sails some of which include:- Vistic Lloyal (JV 100),- Magic Carpet 3 (Wally Cento)- Adela Super Yacht,- Wild Oats (RP98),- Hamilton (Wally Cento)- J Classes Lion Heart and Hanuman- Firefly (Hoek 115)- J One (Wally 72)-Unfurled (Feres 112) The sail making plant which North Sails run in Minden is by far the most technologically advanced in the world both in the facilities which are in place to make constructing the biggest sails in the world more manageable and with the new sail making ideas and concepts which we are applying to these sails every day. I have been very fortunate to be able to spend time working here and it has no doubt improved my level of sail making skills and understanding immensely. Show less

Jan 2010 - Nov 2012
During my time at North Sails UK I worked in both the service and the production departments. Starting off by spending 12 months in service where I worked on major repairs and re-cuts on both super yacht sails and smaller racing sails. After this I spent nearly 2 years working in production on a wide variety of sails but most specialising in super yacht and grand prix race sails.

Sep 2008 - Jul 2010
During my time at SKB sails I was trained in all areas of sail and cover making. I started off with the repairing of sails and after a short time moved to the production of sails and also spent time learning how to drop fit and produce all types of covers but specialising in marine covers such as winter laying up covers and spray hoods. I also worked on the production and repairs on structural awnings. During my time at SKB sails I was trained in all areas of sail and cover making.
