Joining ELEMENT in the spring 2019 semester of my college career, I was rehired to stay into the summer. The 8 month period familiarized me with the office environment, teaching me how to man a front desk and cover phones day in and day out as the first line of contact for incoming callers. I assisted producers with pre-production work such as researching hotels and hires for upcoming shoots or calling to secure necessary equipment and vehicles for upcoming shoots. I also worked with the post-production team selecting music for commercials, transcribing interview footage, and editing initial cuts when given the opportunity. Briefly, during the summer, I filled in as the interim office manager, managing other interns and assisting the executives with main office duties including office maintenance and stocking. I worked concessions and ushered for innumerable mainstage show performances, interacting closely with patrons. Whenever no one else was in the office, interns were required to answer the phone should it ring and help the person on the line with reserving seats, buying tickets, or answering any questions.
