Partners in Health is an international non-profit public health organisation that employs medical workers and provides healthcare services in the poorest areas to help to meet the needs of society. I was appointed to provide logistics and operations assistance by co-ordinating the entire supply chain, including procurement, warehousing and distribution of medicines and medical equipment. I also managed the logistics of expatriate staff whilst overseeing a fleet of 17 cars, recruiting drivers and monitoring their performance. I initiated an idea to engage with an external partner to transport medicines by helicopter to rural areas with poor connectivity. I also instigated and formed partnerships with NGOs, resulting in building tents and camps in rural areas for medical workers to provide services, and overcame the challenge of insufficient fuel stations in remote rural areas by supplying drivers with extra fuel canisters.
