  I've authored over 40 courses for linkedinlearning.com including photography courses on exposure, composition, black and white shooting, flash photography, HDR, low light, inkjet printing, and many others. Since 2013, my weekly Practicing Photographer series has offered a short dose of photo training from hardware to software discussions to shooting advice and creative process. I've also authored courses in video production and creativity. My LinkedInLearning courses have roamed from Oklahoma to Death Valley, Tahoe to Texas, and have been shot on beaches, in forests, in the desert, on Alcatraz, and in many locations in-between. As an author, my responsibilities have included course design, writing, preparation and delivery of all required supporting assets, (both stills, video, and sometimes motion graphics) presentation and delivery, and sometimes editing and post-production. I was LinkedInLearning's first long-form live-action instructor and helped pave the way for the company's transition from screencast only to live-action courses.   My video career began in the days of 3/4" videotape and Sony 5150 editing decks. Along the way I have served in every role from writer, producer and director to editor, DP and on-screen talent. My productions have ranged from industrial to corporate to news gathering and my clients have included Blue Note Records, Kawai America, Global Business Network, Hans Wendl Produktion, Global Business Network, and many startups and non-profits.   Along with Sonja Schenk, I have authored seven editions of this one-stop, film-school-in-a-book. Covering everything from writing and pre-production planning, through production, post-production and final delivery, this book is aimed at the indie producer who wants to make feature films or documentaries. Balancing a mix of technical details with "softer" topics, this book covers everything a new filmmaker needs to plan for and know if they want to get from concept to finished film.
