Bio
Karlheinz T.
Ben Levy worked under my direct supervision at Miomi Ltd. and later Piins Ltd. for a period of 18 months ending in October 2008. His technical expertise ranges from the following methodologies: Agile Development, Rapid Prototyping Rational Development Process UML and Entity Relation Modeling to the following technologies: .NET Framework (C#, C++) Object Oriented Programming in PHP5 JavaScript plus respective libraries (jQuery) and plugins MySQL (stored procedures, optimization, indexing, querying) Sphinx Search Engine Ben is a hard-working self-starter who invariably understands exactly what a project is all about from the outset, and how to get it done quickly and effectively. During his five month in the senior developer position, I cannot remember an instance in which he missed a single deadline. He often brought projects in below budget, and a few were even completed ahead of schedule. Mr. Levy is a resourceful, creative, and solution-oriented person who was frequently able to come up with new and innovative approaches to his assigned projects. He functioned well as a team leader when required, and he also worked effectively as a team member under the direction of other team leaders. On the interpersonal side, Ben has superior written and verbal communication skills. He gets along extremely well with staff under his supervision, as well as colleagues at his own level. He is highly respected, as both a person and a professional, by colleagues, employees, suppliers, and customers alike. In October 2008, when Mr. Levy announced his resignation to take up a new position with a larger company, we were saddened to see him leave, although we wished him the greatest success in his new undertaking. Even now, I can state that his presence, both as a person and as an exemplary employee, is still missed here. In closing, as detailed above, based on my experience working with him, I can unreservedly recommend Ben Levy to you for any senior development or Head of Development position. If you would like further elaboration, feel free to call drop me an e-mail at karlheinz.toni AT googlemail.com.

Ben's technology knowledge is as broad and eclectic as his musical tastes, which is really saying something from the man who has more musical influences than a gypsy-rock-elektronika-neoclassical-thrash-trance jazz quintet featuring didgeridoo, cymbals and strings playing old Edith Piaf numbers in the mod revival style. He's great fun, an excellent cook and a top person to know, although an even better person to work with - one of those rare things, a technologist who is at his happiest fixing problems and doing stuff. Sneezes *very* loudly.
