      I joined Toshiba BRIL in 2020 to assist with Embedded development of the hardware nodes for the Umbrella project - a joint venture between South Gloucestershire Council and Toshiba. I have since worked in numerous other projects, including delivering Toshiba's requirements for the 5GEncode project and leading hardware and software design for other internal projects.

      The Gentleman Octopus Ltd is a collective of researchers, engineers and designers working together to use their expertise in technology to create visually exciting and innovative projects. The most recent being a sound reactive, psychedelic light up octopus that has been installed at multiple music festivals in the UK. Currently I am designing a new generation of custom hardware that will allow us to take the installations to the next level.       Starting on the Renishaw Electronics Graduate Scheme I have spent time working in placements at several departments in the company finally settling in the Measurement Automation Product Division. My responsibilities in the division are as an electronics engineer working on new products for the company. I primarily work on designing analogue and digital electronic systems based around micro-controllers and FPGAs using both Altium Designer and Zuken Design Gateway to draw schematics and PCBs. I also write embedded code in C for ARM Cortex-M, AVR and PIC based micro-controllers/DSPs. My role also consists of sourcing components, building prototypes, developing test plans and assisting the current generation of graduates in their roles. Show less
