Manchester, United Kingdom After 5 &1/2 amazing years in Sydney, Blightly called and Chief in Manchester was to be my next home. Not to want to take the usual career path, I decided I like to make things. So why don't I do that. And Chief is to be the place to let me do it. From writing and creating documentaries, to branded content, music videos and maybe even a TV series. Our aim isn’t just to help companies become more sustainable we want them to be more profitable through sustainability. Working with clients such as Unilever, NAB, Mobile Muster (the official recycling program of the mobile phone industry), Lendlease. As well as NGO's Fairtrade, WWF, The Cancer Council, Médecins Sans Frontières and The ASRC (who we created 'The Hot Potato' for). As well as The Greens election campaign. It is the most exciting, fulfilling and creatively buzzing place I’ve ever worked at. And I believe it will only get better. In years to come the industry will look at “Sustainability Experts” the same way we talked about Digital agencies. The revolution has begun. www.republicofeveryone.com AWARDS AND HONOURS GREENPEACE – “BIRDS” AWARD 2014 BRONZE. “THE HOT POTATO” OFFICIAL SELECTION: BYRON BAY FILM FESTIVAL 2014. ‘THE HAIR” OFFICIAL SELECTION: SHOCKFEST LA 2014. The digital genius of David “Jacko” Jackson and the amazing talented head of TV Alex Hay. I was running some great clients like LG and Virgin Atlantic, amongst others. And the highlight was working with Luke Simkins to bring “Signed Finds” for Vinnies to life. But during this time advertising began to lose it's sparkle. The joy of ideas and problem solving was getting caught up in politics. This all changed with a drunken conversation at the Shakespeare Head in Surry Hills with Scott Matyus-Flynn. Thought it was the best work of my career. Went one better with 4320 For the Airline VAustralia. The brief: Sell weekend deals to LA. Answer: Show people what they can pack into a weekend in LA by tweeting every minute of it. All 4320 of them. It was the most insane shoot I’ve ever done - we had 3 hours sleep the entire weekend. The 3 Sydneysiders chosen for the challenge went through everything from Botox to a 4320LA tattoo, and became my friends for life. Won more awards. Love Droga5 (loved working with Nobby) but it was too safe, I needed a new challenge. AWARDS: V AUSTRALIA: ‘4320LA/SYD’ CANNES LIONS 2010: GOLD - DIRECT. TRAVEL AND ENTERTAINMENT. SILVER - DIRECT. I even ended up on one project being Sir Johns Writer. (The “Legends” don’t get bigger than JH.) Amazing teachers. But I needed something different to what London could offer me. 2003: Jumped ship, went to freelance for 3 months at Mother. Didn’t enjoy it as much as we hoped. Jumped again, to a year at HHCL under Jon Burley and Steve Henry. Worked with some amazing legends in the industry. Sid McGrath, Richard Huntington, Jim Bolton, some of the smartest (and randomist) people I’ve ever worked with.
