Ben brought great insights and thinking to our conference in Manchester in November. Reaching Out considered issues around working with young people from challenging circumstances and his knowledge and ideas inspired the room! We are looking forward to seeing the full report that he is working on with our other Youth Music funded colleagues.

I was responsible for the MusicLeader, Voltage, Youth Music Mentors, Passport and Sound Stage funding programmes, and a key player in the development of the new Youth Music Programme. I managed a team of authors and researchers, and ran stakeholder consultations in the former Soviet Union, to produce the Mining, Minerals and Sustainable Development (MMSD) report. MMSD was an $8million, two-year global project of participatory analysis seeking to understand how the mining and minerals sector can contribute to the transition to sustainable development. It culminated in a highly successful report, presented to the World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg, 2002.
