Working in Organisational Development helped me realise my passion for instructional design and adult learning. Health Support Services (HSS) is a state government agency and is a part of the WA health system. The Organisational Development (OD) Officer role allowed me to use my post-graduate studies to positively support HSS' culture and engage with our employees. This role was one of the best experiences of my career as I worked on a number of OD initiatives, including:~ Development, promotion and coordination of learning and development programs.~ Development and implementation of employee engagement and culture initiatives.~ Workforce data collection, analysis and reporting, including providing narrative for executive reports.A significant project that I was involved in was the configuration, launch and transition of the whole of health, multi-tenancy Learning Management System. This project delivered an employee-centric platform that supports the learning and development of all WA health employees. My role included technical configuration of the platform, ensuring critical milestones were met and actively partnering with stakeholders to share knowledge and experience.The OD Officer role helped me develop an understanding of the importance of creating a positive organisational culture, harnessing employee engagement and how to leverage digital learning to support learning and development. The Disaster Preparedness and Management Unit (DPMU) is the key incident response team for WA health. As the Training Support Officer, I coordinated and facilitated disaster management training across metropolitan and regional WA. This role introduced me to Learning Management Systems and provided me with the opportunity to develop a variety of training materials for both face-to-face and online learning. I implemented a number of initiatives to improve service delivery and the learner experience: ~ Developed and implemented a consistent system for course planning and administration, including process documentation. ~ Reviewed and updated promotional content and course templates. ~ Developed a communication plan to ensure seamless engagement with instructors and learners. The Training Support Officer role allowed my to embrace my love of learning and introduced me to the world of adult learning. I walked away with new skills in adult learning theories, instructional design and engaging with subject matter experts. Show less

I provided high level project and business support to the freight and ports team. As the Business Support Officer, I had the opportunity to work on a number of high-impact projects such as: ~ Converting an out of date and verbose handbook into a set of modern, easy-to-read fact sheets for board members. ~ Supporting a highly confidential Ministerial project of public interest including analysing sensitive data and managing stakeholder communication. ~ Project managing an Expression of Interest process for board appointments. My time at Department of Transport taught me the importance of remaining agile and responsive in an ever-changing environment. Sonic Learning is a small business of health and education professionals that help build learning foundations through online programs. This was my first introduction to the wonderful world of digital learning. I supported implementation of the Fast ForWord program, an adaptive reading and language program. I worked closely with students, parents and schools to support the learners as they moved through the program, providing motivation and professional advice. I was able to build effective stakeholder management skills through consulting with schools to analyse their needs and determine if the Fast ForWord program was the best solution for them. Show less
