Spark Arena is part of the Live Nation family and in this role Belinda assisted with the policies and procedures for our a Live Nation arena in Kuwait specifically in the field of Event Management. Part of the senior management team for the arena, Belinda's experience as the Event Operations Manager was invaluable. Worked at both the strategic and operation levels in her previous career, Belinda’s skillset encompasses but is not limited to areas like event management, emergency management and planning, security deployment, hostile vehicle mitigation, crowd control management, and ticketing. Working and collaborating with strategic security taskforces and experts from the UK, Europe, Asia and Australia to ensure that we here in NZ were up to date with all the latest intel. With the arena teams that Belinda worked with in her time at Spark Arena, she helped to develop, consult and provide training/guidance that sets the foundations for the arenas front of house procedures. Belinda accredits all of this experience and training to her past mentors, managers, promoters and industry professionals, who without their knowledge and guidance she could be the operator she became in the events industry. Transitioning from an accounts assistant role to being offered the role of Event Coordinator with QPAM Ltd, the management company for Vector Arena, NZ's state of the art, 12.200 capacity, indoor arena. The venue officially opened in April 2007 officially with two sold out Red Hot Chili Pepper concerts closing out their world tour in Auckland, NZ. A large number of learnings was made in this first year of operation from event management, event adaption design, crowd control, ticketing, marketing, risk management, health and safety, working with both internal and external local suppliers and being the link between the venue, the promoter for the show and sometimes the international touring crew. Learning to work on shows 6-12mths in advance while still delivering and executing the show/s that are happening at the time was a juggling act that had its challenges but reap more rewards on completion. One of the greatest assets learnt in this role was building relationships and time management to deliver a successful event. One satisfaction that never changed from show to show, was the expressions and emotions on fans faces at a show, in seeing their idol. This feeling always outweigh all the little bumps and bruises that were experienced to getting the show up and running.
