Joe Greathead
I worked with Bekki for just over a year, a little over half of that on building out a new team with a new focus. After this time, I can confidently say Bekki is one of the best, if not the best, technical people leaders with which I've had the opportunity to work. Bekki's leadership is driven by empathy for those around her and is one of the few I've seen to build a high-trust, effective communication environment. Bekki and I worked to develop the team culture, onboard new members, and grow the team to effectively building a new product with which they felt a high degree of ownership. She is able to navigate tough conversations, provide direct and honest feedback with care, keep folks accountable to their commitments and the team, dig into technical decisions to validate and enforce them, and identify paths forward in both technical and social situations. Her skills extend beyond just those of an individual team as she also proved her ability to lead within the larger organization.
