Rebecca Perkins worked for me at Vandenberg Base library for two years from 2011 through 2013. At that time she was pursuing her library degree. She demonstrated enthusiasm and competency in various library areas such as circulation duties, book processing, and she was especially valued for her work as one of the Information Technology Equipment Custodians. She has a significant understanding of the technologies involved with running a library and a much appreciated ability to organize all the components involved. Ms. Perkins also showed great imagination and creativity in her assistance with creating and executing the library's children's programs. She has a great eye for composition as she helped with marketing and publicity in the form of flyers and slides. She has an above average comprehension of Social Networking to promote library programs and services. It is a pleasure to recommend Ms. Perkins. She will be an asset to the institution she works for and we wish her great success. Eva Christine McLaughlin eva.mclaughlin@us.af.mil

Rebecca was a student in my course "Examination of Global Library Issues Using Project-Based Learning" at the San Jose State University iSchool in Spring 2015. Under her leadership, the After-School programming team developed highly contextualized, community specific recommendations for the Asturias Academy in Guatemala. Rebecca provided a great deal of intellectual guidance for the project, and demonstrated a deep understanding of the community. One of her ideas "create your own bilingual book" was particularly well received by Librarians Without Borders. Rebecca shows great promise to be a community-oriented librarian and a collegial, thoughtful team member for any library.
