  For my final placement I was able to gain experience in the private sector where I was exposed to a variety of high spec. Components and complex patient presentations. This allowed me to develop my problem solving abilities and prescription strategies. Whilst at the LPC I was able to practice my cast work and production techniques, where I am now more sufficient. I took the initiative to gain some NHS experience throughout placement where I undertook 2 weeks at Stanmore and 2weeks at Roehampton where I was able to see the workings of an NHS centre, the inpatient ward, hemipelvectomy patients and different manufacturing techniques. Overall my placement allowed me to understand the vast array of products, patients and techniques seen in the prosthetics industry. Show less

  Underwent my intermediate placement at John Florence. Had a great time learning about complex paediatric orthotics. I have a real interest and love for spinal now having used their technique and seen the results. Whilst there I worked with a lot of AHPs and shadowed many different orthotists, along with learning to rectify all types of products and fully making an AFO straps and all. My understanding of biomechanics, material design and goal setting has improved immensely, along with great friendships. Show less
