Isabella Morozova, Ph.D. Andrew Morozov, Ph.D. 720-384-8725 dearmurzik@gmail.com We write this letter in two capacities: first as the devoted father and grandmother of one of Ms. Sheinbaum’s students; and secondly as a social worker and a professional educator, respectively. We want to commend Ms. Rebecca Sheinbaum for being an outstanding, exceptional teacher, for her skills, and for her professionalism. In addition to creating an excellent educational environment, Ms. Sheinbaum’s classroom is a caring home where every child can thrive and feel loved and accepted. We specifically requested Ms. Sheinbaum as Lisa’s third grade teacher because of her legendary care for her students, her educational expertise, and her dedication to her students’ learning. What we experienced was even above and beyond our exceedingly high expectations. Ms. Sheinbaum teaches the children with thoughtful guidance. She encourages her students to love writing so much that Lisa came to truly value her own work and carefully archived each completed assignment. Thank you, Ms. Sheinbaum for teaching Lisa the art of writing, and carefully cultivating her talents. Ms. Sheinbaum teaches her students to be critical readers. Lisa learned how to distinguish a good book, so that she not only knew that she loved the story, but could articulate why it was a well-written and engaging. In addition to teaching literacy so strongly, Ms. Sheinbaum was also a tremendous science teacher. Her lessons about ecosystems were particularly resonant with Lisa; she learned the value of each humble creature. Lisa learned to become a good writer, read critically, be a focused and thorough scientist, and be a good-hearted person and contributor to the community. Although Lisa did not have her as a direct instructor for math and social studies, Ms. Sheinbaum integrated Lisa’s learning in those subject areas with her other studies. As well, Ms. Sheinbaum made time biweekly to meet with us to help us stay apprised of Lisa’s progress. Ms. Sheinbaum’s teaching is rigorous, and she expects great things of her students. Because of this, Lisa felt motivated to try her hardest. Ms. Sheinbaum’s consistently high expectations pushed Lisa to grow into a more skilled and confident person. Ms. Sheinbaum gave Lisa the exceptional gift of knowing her own great value as a person by honoring her effort and growth. We are so grateful to Ms. Sheinbaum for all the interesting and challenging academic adventures she provided for her students during her insightful and creative lessons, day after day. We want to thank her also for helping families to stay engaged and involved in the third grade community. Thank you, Ms. Sheinbaum, for your legendary devotion to the profession, for sharing your outstanding talents and heartfelt kindness with us, for being a Teacher with a capital T, for being you!
