Auckland Branch Manager - Institute of Directors
-
2021 - Present
The Institute of Directors (IoD) is the professional body for directors and is at the heart of New Zealand's governance community. Our vision is for a strong, fair and sustainable future for New Zealand, powered by best practice governance. Member engagement is key in this role, as is developing and maintaining strong relationships with sponsors and other like-minded membership groups and stakeholders, sharing what the IoD offers. I work in conjunction with Auckland Branch committee to develop an effective programme of professional learning events for members, supporting and enabling directors to; develop governance skills and capabilities, add value to their organisations and wider communities, and prepare them to positively transform the future. We also provide advice on how to build a board career.

Events Manager

Jul 2012 - May 2020
Building relationships with the education, business and tech ecosystems, in the ever increasing spaces where they collide, both face-to-face and online, to create better educational experiences and outcomes for all. Working with a wide range of future focussed facilitators and consultants, educationalists and business leaders across all sectors on aspects of strategic planning and partnerships, and design, create, market, and deliver numerous educational conferences, roadshows and seminar programmes designed to meet the needs of participants, and push educational boundaries. CORE Education has a strong focus on innovation, thought leadership and the future of learning. Staying abreast of trends, researching and writing themes in response to challenges, and networking are critical to the work. I managed our flagship uLearn event, which attracts 1500-2000 delegates (the largest education conference in the country), around 100 exhibitors and 300+ speakers and design the programme in its entirety. Working in bi-cultural and equitable ways, and promoting the utilisation of cutting edge ICT information and tools for all learners. CORE Education is a not-for-profit organisation whose work is firmly based on educational research, pedagogies and best practice. (See uLearn video above).
