Becca delivered the inaugural visit of the National Youth Orchestra of Iraq to the UK in 2012. Balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders such as the Iraqi Government, Scottish Government, British Council, Crescent Petroleum and the orchestra itself was a huge job, and one which she pulled off with consummate skill and relentless positivity, on top of the complex job of project management for which she was hired. As a recommendation from the British Council, she proved to be every bit as top quality as she was made out to be. I only work with the best, which is why I chose to work with Becca.

Becca and I worked on the high profile, high pressure visit of the National Youth Orchestra of Iraq to UK in 2012. She is a very tough and resourceful project manager, worth every penny, and also took on the role of fundraiser in this 250,000 pound project. She stands head and shoulders above everyone else, and her understanding of our complexities, as well as her drive to go the extra mile, was exemplary.

Collaborating with colleagues in the Revels Office's Catalyst Network on the development of a Cultural Compact for Southwark Council. This is an Arts Council England initiative to develop new opportunities for cross-arts and business collaboration, revenue creation, and a more active and engaged borough. Due to COVID 19 this work has been developed into helping Southwark Council understand the needs of cultural partners in the borough as we recover from the pandemic, through research and consultation. I devise, fundraise, and deliver many projects for a range of organisations who either need external expertise or don't have the current capacity to deliver themselves. I specialise in devising creative programmes to enable a wide range of people to engage with an idea, product or place. I have recently managed a range of projects: Delivering music projects within a health and wellbeing programme for Brighton Music Service; delivering a public participation performance of David Bedford's Balloon Music at the Southbank Centre; delivering a creative programme for asylum seekers in a selection of London schools culminating in a performance at th Southbank Centre for Music Action International; compiling Music Education research for the British Council; and strategically advising artist duo French Mottershead. • Project Manager, Animating Britten
      • Jan 2012 - Dec 2013

Scoped, devised and developed an international animation project for the Britten-Pears Foundation and British Council. Based on Benjamin Britten's Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra, I collaborated with a film artist to create a plan of delivery, teacher pack, and deliver and manage the project. The trained teachers in the UK, Bulgaria and Russia went on to deliver the work with their classes, resulting in a comprehensive and imaginative interpretation of the music. The completed animation film was premiered at the Barbican in November 2013, http://animatingbritten.wordpress.com/ Show less

      • Feb 2012 - Sep 2012

I worked as fundraiser for the National Youth Orchestra of Iraq's 2012 UK visit and then took on the role of project management. The project was ambitious - a budget of £250,000, a residential course in Edinburgh over the summer of 2012 with performances in Edinburgh as part of the Festival, Glasgow and London at the QEH, Southbank. I learned an incredible amount about the complexities of Iraq and thoroughly enjoyed working on a genuinely worthwhile example of reconciliation and hope through music, as exhausting as it was!
