I first met Bec in 2006. Since this time I’ve been lucky enough to develop a strong working relationship with her, and along the way have been continually inspired, motivated and grounded by her innate wisdom. A harm reductionist to the core. Bec has freely shared her hard earned wisdom with me and as a result both myself and the community I serve have benefited. Bec brings both her sharp intelligence and keen understanding of drug policy, her grounded, deep knowledge of harm reduction practice and her background of improv comedy (far more than just telling a funny joke, but she’s pretty good at that also) when we meet. I’ve never left a group supervision with Bec without feeling like I can tackle whatever problem is in front of me. Bec lives her values and has a unique skill in bring the best out of people, making a service excel on the shoestring budgets we all battle with, and is always looking to the future, to how we can do better, be better. From introducing me the ideas of collective solidarity and justice doing, to being able to think in new and creative ways; Bec is a tireless advocate for socially equitable world. If you’re looking for someone to bring vibrancy, passion and deep commitment to your work, look no further.
