I am responsible for setting up the schools program for the Stella Prize, which includes the creation of teaching units on all shortlisted books from the first two years of the prize, as well as additional material relating to the prize and the issues that it encompasses. I conceived teen feminist writing festival, Girls Write Up and programmed the first three years of events as well as overseeing growth into ten locations across Australia. In addition to Girls Write Up, I have developed numerous programs to engage teens with ideas of language, gender and power, to develop writing and critical thinking skills, and to build confidence. I have been committed to diverse programming and creating opportunities for emerging writers. Show less
