  This position is my first introduction into the intricate world of hands-on wildland firefighting. Working on a 20-person hand crew, I've been exposed to mop-up procedures, initial attacks, inter-agency coordination, chain-of-command procedures, structural protection, radio and chainsaw training, and prescribed burning operations. My time on active fire lines has helped round off my education and previous research experience of wildland fire. I look forward to learning and growing in the field and making it an inclusive space for anyone interested in firefighting.
