Research Assistant
-
Sep 2015 - Aug 2021
In my six years as a research assistant and field technician in a wildfire and plant community ecology research lab, I studied how animals and wildfires influence desert and forest plant communities. Fieldwork experience includes multi-year vegetation surveys identifying native and invasive desert and forest plant species; small mammal trapping in the Great Basin and Mojave Deserts; aspen regeneration surveys in wildfires throughout Utah; and water quality and aquatic macroinvertebrate sampling in streams in the Wasatch Range. Lab work includes preparation for field experiments, seed counting, processing plant samples, and seed germinations. Coauthored a scientific publication and presented data at multiple Ecological Society of America’s annual conferences. Show less
