Currently working on 2 projects : Implementing patient-centered care in Israel – the case of fertility treatments and work practices and attitudes of mental health professionals two years after the launch of the insurance reform. More information about the Smokler Center for Health Policy Research: Twenty years after the establishment of National Health Insurance, Israel’s health system is again at a critical juncture amidst ongoing concerns about workforce shortages, the growth of private medicine, and health inequalities. There are efforts to improve patient services and to reduce gaps in accessibility to public services. In addition, there are important initiatives to expand the public health care package, including elements in the original legislation that have not yet been implemented. MJB’s Smokler Center for Health Policy Research is playing a key national role in addressing these concerns. Show less

The center for Quality Promotion Systems The Myers-JDC-Brookdale Institute assists government ministries to improve the quality of care in the services they supervise by upgrading the government regulation system and making it more objective, systematic and uniform. The Center of Quality Promotion Systems developed several methods and tools. One of them is The RAF Method for regulation, assessment, follow-up and continuous improvement of quality of care that was first developed by the Center for Quality Assurance in the Myers-JDC-Brookdale Institute for the Service for the Elderly in the Ministry of Social Affairs at the end of the 1980s. Since then, the Method has been extended to additional services and includes almost all out-of-home services. There have been important developments in community services as well. In addition, I also work closely with the Unit of Learning from Success and Ongoing Learning in Ongoing Collaborative Learning in Human Service Organizations. JB’s Unit for Learning from Success and Ongoing Collaborative Learning in Human Service Organizations develops and implements innovative learning practices to help organizations provide high-quality, appropriate, and beneficial services to the populations they serve. The Learning from Success (LFS) approach seeks to create environments that encourage ongoing collaborative learning within organizations. The LFS approach is based on three types of interconnected, collaborative learning methods that are expalained further in our website: http://brookdale.jdc.org.il/?CategoryID=180 For more information, feel free to contact me: batshevah@jdc.org.il http://brookdale.jdc.org.il/ Show less
