  Water en energie is een mooie combinatie met veel uitdagingen. Momenteel ben ik bij Water2Energy bezig met het detailontwerp en doorrekenen van de turbine voor plaatsen met laag verval, zoals in Nederland vaak geval is in bijvoorbeeld rivieren, sluizen en plaatsten met getijde. Met een goed ontwerp en uitvoering kan waterkracht voor een significante component zorgen in het aanbod van duurzame energie. In bijvoorbeeld sluizen in rivieren kan waterkracht ingezet worden om het elektriciteitsnet stabiel te houden, dit kan door op de tijden dat er energie nodig is de klep naar het omloopkanaal open te zetten waardoor het water gaat stromen en de turbine energie gaat leveren.
