      Since 2009, Bart is working for Andriessen Piano’s-Vleugels in Haarlem (NL) First as an Intern and later, after he graduated the Piano technician school, in permanent employment. At Andriessen Piano’s-Vleugels, Bart gained a lot of experience in repairing and restoring pianos and grand pianos. At this moment, Bart is responsible for the logistics, performance and quality of the restorations. (2 workshops, furniture/construction and mechanical/strings) Since April 2022 Bart and his wife Sanne are co-owner of Andriessen Piano's-Vleugels together with Frank Bonarius and Gemma van Poppelen. Andriessen Piano`s-Vleugels is building up a collection of historical (forte)pianos. These instruments are rented regularly for concerts and (CD) recordings.       In recent years, Bart broadened his knowledge in forte pianos and square pianos from the period ca. 1780-1850. During more than three years, in addition to his full time job at Andriessen, Bart learned the craftsmanship of restoration on his free Monday from Edwin Beunk, Johan Wennink, Carolien Dopheide and Katja Lüthje at Enschede. The love and passion to keep these instruments in working order and pristine condition, and to offer the audience that special and authentic sound, inspired Bart to put his passion and love into action and led to the founding of Houtgraaf Fortepiano.
