    • Key Account Manager (Energy and Environmental Division)
      • Jan 2017 - May 2019

As Key Account Manager in the first place it was necessary to have a solid knowledge of what Tecnalia has to offer in the areas of materials for extreme conditions, corrosion, surface engineering, solar energy and digital energy, after which potentially interesting sectors such as the steel industry, engineering companies or manufacturers of products for surface treatments were interviewed for knowing their needs and potential collaboration and / or contracting. Also, I've been in charge of a project on technological innovation in general for one of the world's major steel producers. Show less

    • Senior Project Manager (Corporate Area of Business Development)
      • Jul 2015 - Dec 2016

Responsible for the selection, purchase and implantation of the CRM Salesforce, for the Business Development, Sales, Marketing and Financial Departments of Tecnalia, with full integration of the ERP MS Navision, Outlook, MailChimp and mobile phones. The number of users is around 450. Tecnalia, as Research and Technology Organization, has more than 1400 employees, is divided in 6 Divisions, which are subdivided in approximately 30 Business Areas. Each area, develops and uses a different technology and has a different market, which may overlap with that of other areas, meaning that they have strongly varying commercial needs. Giving a coherent solution to all these needs in such a complex organization was required and delivered. Show less

    • Business Development Manager for Bioeconomy (Corporate Area of Business Development)
      • Jan 2014 - Jun 2015

In 2014 it became clear that Bioeconomy and the Bio-Based Industries were a strongly growing and innovative sector, with increasing support from the European Commission. At Tecnalia, that forms part of the initiative (AERTO) of European RTO’s on Bioeconomy, an initiative was made to collaborate between the major RTO’s. Also, within Tecnalia we’ve united our capabilities in this field (present in three divisions), allowing us to obtain more grants at the BBI-JU and to have more to offer to companies. My work has consisted of strongly leading or supporting the mentioned initiatives. Show less

    • Commercial Organization Manager (Corporate Area of Business Development)
      • Jun 2011 - Dec 2013

Basically, two completely different activities were carried out when having this function:• The evaluation of early phase projects of the Health Division, together with MATIA, which is an institute focused on gerontology that has its own research center. All the projects took part within the context of the initiative FIK, a 100% private initiative and therefore strongly profit oriented. Of the evaluated projects, some were stopped, while others were reoriented.• Improvement of coordination on commercial level. Tecnalia is a RTO created by a major merger between eight smaller RTO’s in the Basque Country in 2010. When we consider the usual complexity of RTO’s, fully merged in a new organization divided at that time in seven Business Divisions, many difficulties were encountered. My work consisted of removing barriers for collaboration between divisions on commercial level and do the same for the strategic customers of Tecnalia. Show less

    • Head of Gerontotechnology Department (Health Division)
      • Sep 2009 - Jun 2011

During this time, I was in charge of a team of 18 persons that formed part of an exceptional private project (FIK) in which all funds were used for developing and commercializing technological assets in the field of mainly devices for improving life quality of ageing people. It was a time of major transformation, where in collaboration with a ventures company set up for the FIK project, market lines had to be redefined in order to obtain a good alignment. In addition, we increased the weight of market-pull business model (as opposed to technology push) in order to increase the success rate of the commercialization, usually by the creation of spin-offs and IP sales.
