Project Lead of the Business Improvement Team. The Business Improvement Team is a cross functional team at Rollingstock Maintenance Redbank, working with a Lean Consultancy Group (KM&T). The knowledge and skill I have learnt along my lean journey and my passionate approach is described here as an example of my Leadership, Passion and Courage. Building on support provided to the Passenger, Bogies and Air-Conditioning departments the Team and I have recently focused on developing an improvement framework to drive site-wide change. The development of this framework required us to utilise leading edge thinking, adapting the best of lean to the specifics of the Redbank site. In rolling this forward we have led by example, demonstrating the values demanded by a lean enterprise in all their daily activities and remaining passionate about the potential for change. The commencement of this work was the creation of 12 Business principles and a supporting audit mechanism, allowing us to work with each Redbank Department to understand current performance and to establish the improvement imperative. This was then combined into a site-wide roadmap and detailed schedules put in place for the 9 initial projects as part of the Strategic Deployment Plan. The team have certainly shown that we are able to support our vision to “Grow our People. Grow with our Customers. Grow the Nation”. Show less
