Field infrastructure also required, consisting of 47 wells and some 180 km of new flow lines and trunk lines.Greenfield site.Facilities included a permanent (Base de Vie) accommodation camp with offices, messing and recreation for 160 personnel, also an Industrial Base with offices, workshops and warehouse infrastructure.Commenced in November 2000 and involved developing a Pioneer Camp to house initial personnel, also the construction of temporary construction accommodation and offices to house 400 men. Ground breaking took place in January 2001, and the project completed in 34 months to production.The Ohanet project is regarded as one of the most successful facilities in Algeria. Show less

Joined Sonrco with the remit set up an Operations group Project Team (OPT), in Sonarco’s Algerian location at REB (Rhourde El Baguel). To incorporate an autonomous group and transition the remaining activities of the then resident Project Management Team, as they departed REB (Post Enhanced Oil Recovery Project completion). Additionally to provide: Engineering and construction support to Operations Group Projects. Drilling department support in respect of new wells and existing well work-over (new flow lines and on pad hook-ups). Post compressor start up and new oil plant support. Regulatory interfaces support and integration with the local labour base. Total discipline cover with fast reaction ability (either in house resources or with local national contractors) including Civil, structural, piping design, flow lines, procurement, electrical/instrument construction, welding, NDE, Cad, Certification, Surveying, Documentation, Hydro testing, commissioning, engineering. In November 1999, I inherited the additional management of "offsite" engineering support function in Leatherhead. My responsibilities included a labour base on site of some 250 personnel in the form of Expatriate, Filipino and National labour on a split of 5% 15% and 80% respectively. The group achieved total autonomy in May 1999 and provided all aspects of support to the ongoing operation, and new project work. Show less
