Sep 2004 - Sep 2011
Positions Held: MWD (Measurement While Drilling) Technician, MWD Field Specialist 4, MWD Field Specialist 5, MWD Field Specialist 6 Duties: As a technician I inventoried and stocked field work trailers with all needed tools, supplies, parts, and equipment. Make sure that all computer systems were purged of all previous job data and were to the latest revision programing. Make sure all directional and gamma downhole tools were calibrated and programed properly and stored in a protected manner. As MWD Specialist I used proprietary computer programs to calculate the configuration of the tools to be assembled for proper voltage output and signal strength. All assemblies were built on site and inserted as needed into the drill-string. This was repeated at each trip out of the hole. Utilizing the code being sent to the surface but the downhole tools, the direction the drill-string was going was calculated and displayed to the Directional Driller Calculated drill-bit location surveys were furnished to specified recipients. Accomplishments and contributions: Created Excel Spread sheets utilizing a common entry form to populate multiple required forms reducing the amount of time required to fill out these forms. Created an Excel Workbook to replace a complicated parts re-order system and order form. Created Excel workbook to track tool performance and aid in the end of run and end of job paperwork, reducing the time spent from hours to minutes. Show less
