Exhibitions Curator Assistant

In my role as Exhibitions Curator Assistant my main responsibility was to assist Helen Carey, Director / Curator of Limerick City Gallery of Art in all aspects of the running of the gallery. Duties included. • PR for the gallery, via social media, press releases, listings etc. • Compiling Press / Mailing Databases. • Redesign & distribution of the monthly E-Newsletter for LCGA. • Updating the LCGA website detailing exhibitions, news & events. • Liaising with artists/graphic designer/printers for the production of posters, exhibition invites and the gallery’s Events Calendar. Gathering statements, images, listings and relevant gallery information. In addition to these duties I was also responsible for the installation of exhibitions at LCGA and EVA International. Installing exhibitions for Cleary & Connolly, Occupy Space, Alan Phelan, Brian Duggan, Niamh O’Malley, Barbara Knezevic, Enda O’Donoghue and worked on the installation of ‘Into The Light’ 60th Anniversary Exhibition of the Arts Council. Ennis Chamber of Commerce Feb – May 2012 As Marketing and Communications Officer I was responsible for communications with Chamber Members. I was involved in such projects as. Developing an on-line Communications Survey for Chamber Members. ‘Clare Volunteer Card’ scheme. Contacting local volunteer groups and business owners to help them promote this initiative. ‘Create The Magic’ initiative, Liasing with Chamber Members and the public to make them aware of this customer services program. E.A.S.I. (Easy Access to Spaces Inititave). Working with Ennis Council and Clare Arts Officer to promote this scheme, which is to use vacant shop units within Ennis as a space where local artists and crafts workers can display their work. My work on these projects involved, on a daily basis, Providing reports to and liaising with management Maintain strong customer relationships with existing Members and potential new members. Produce spreadsheets detailing Members, contact details etc which are used for enrollment purposes onto courses, seminars and workshops Use of Google Docs and Google Analytics to analyise communication patterns and marketing strategies. In conjunction with these day to day duties, I worked alongside Chamber staff on marketing strategies.
