I looked for ways to improve the process in the brewhouse as well as wastewater, recycling program, ingredients use and energy use. Worked on implementing CO2 harvest with Closed Loop Sustainability and Earthly Labs. Started to work with local environmental organizations to do a water quality analysis of the area surrounding the brewery and impacts of the effluent runoff. My manager often looked to me to lead the team to grow the general atmosphere of the brew team around me as well as move forward on work projects. I fixed major issues in the brewhouse that saved us 3-4 bbls of wort every knockout (36-48bbls/day) and worked on more fixes to help build our quality, safety, and efficiency. This job had me manning all aspects of the brewery under the supervision of head brewer Zach Wilson while he was unable to perform any tasks due to shoulder surgery. -I performed all brewing prep; moving grain and milling, filling and heating HLT, CIP of FV and hoses for next day, and prepping the Mash and Boil Kettle. -Brewing Days; I ran the 5 BBL manual brew house single handed even on double batch days. Dumping milled grain into the kettle and running small gauges manually to ensure adequate temperature for Mash in while stirring in the mash to keep the right consistency of grain to water ratio. Took constant measurements on pH throughout the process adding different minerals for balance. Vorlauf, sparge, lauter and then boil, again adding different minerals for balance as well as hop additions. Finally, after whirlpool, transferred through the heat exchanger into the 10 BBL FVs. For this brewery, I would manually dump liquid yeast or dry yeast in through the top hatch after I finished the transfer. I also did all final cleaning and mashing out. -Cellaring consisted of taking pH readings, gravity readings, dry hopping, coffee additions, sometimes racking off into a barrel, crashing, transfer to BBT, and then force carbonation using a method of injecting CO2 through a carb stone while letting head CO2 bleed off but staying in a 2PSI range of the pressure going in allowing us to carbonate in 4-6 hrs. -Other tasks included running the automated 2 head keg cleaner, manual filling of kegs, cold room stock, and maintenance. -I also worked the tap room as a server behind the bar, which includes all opening and closing tasks. Stocking, cleaning, counting of the register, pouring, changing kegs, closing out the register and putting cash into the deposit spot. Show less

Producer/Production Coordinator/Casting Director

Jun 2013 - Sep 2013
I coordinate all the pre production for each day of filming. For each day I cast different actors to work in 15 30-40 sec English education videos, I scout and lock down locations for each day's filming, I organize call sheets with schedules, directions, scripts, props and other pertinent details for the shoot, I work with the writers to fit casting, locations and the scripts for each day. We film 5 days a week, with the end goal of 75 30-40 sec videos to be filmed a week. Locations are anything from parks to public buildings, to mansions and what ever else the script may call for. Each day of filming I make sure that locations or opened or meet with location manager or owner to introduce crew. I act as a stand in for some films as a n actor when needed. I run to buy any props still needed for that day. I am the one person producer/production coordinator/prop manager/casting director for up to 800 30-40 sec short films over 2 months. Show less
