Short term internship for Canterbury Christ Church University. I am responsible for the recording, editing, mixing, mastering and cataloguing a series of concerts for a organs and electronics specific tour throughout the UK. We used a number of stereo portable recorders (Zoom, Tascam, Olympus) to capture the performances as well as the room ambience itself. Once the tour was completed I edited the recordings to polish them ready for physical release on a record label. This included using Izotopes RX3 for noise reduction, Logic X for audio editing, EQing and mastering, and Spear for removing audience noise. Once all of this data was processed I archived it all using SoundMiner and an excel spreadsheet. I also wrote a composition for the organist where I recorded the tone of a room with a Sound Field SPS422B microphone, using mid/side recording. I then processed this ambience so it morphed into experimental textures, and then wrote organ parts or accompany this. Show less
