      The amount of responsibility that I received as the Electrical Design Engineering placement student at AB Dynamics helped me to develop my ability to problem solve and has vastly improved my understanding of real-world engineering. The practical nature of the role with design focused on manufacturing has shown me that engineering solutions must consider efficiency and safety, rather than just innovative functionality. I was involved with the track-test applications of the business which develop robots and systems to enable automotive manufacturers to test driverless vehicles. My main project for the year was the design and build of a new lithium battery cycling rig to improve the production of ADAS platforms. I presented my research into potential solutions, then produced drawings of the selected design to enable myself and a colleague to build the cabinet. I managed the progress of the project, whilst designing and building everything except the software installed in the system.
