I learned quickly about the business of selling real estate under the guidance of an incredible man, Bob Wurdeman. Within the first two years, I earned my Broker's License. I took the Broker's test with my dear friend and ex-partner, Carol Leisey. We went on to start Prudential Ambassador Real Estate with 5 other partners. Secondary English & Journalism Teacher
-
Jan 1973 - May 1977
I taught eighth and ninth grade English. After volunteering to sponsor the Jr. High School newspaper (called The Bengal,as they were the Fremont Tigers), I realized that 8th and 9th graders needed to first learn how to write feature, sports, news stories, etc and also needed to learn about layouts and typing. Consequently, I started the first Journalism class so the students could learn to put out a quality paper. At that time it was typing on an electric typewriter with a stencil. We had an ink memiograph machine which cranked out a 12 page paper once a week for 1500 students. All this and I had my two children during this time. Life was a little stressful! Show less
