During the Spring 2020 term working with PSCC, I taught the Dual Enrollment students at the Powell High School campus. What a blessing to be a part of this budding student population. Due to the COVID outbreak and in keeping with the campus guidelines, we transitioned to meeting fully online right after Spring Break, but this did not deter us from obtaining 92% pass rate! Yay! Unfortunatly, due to the decline in student enrollment, the need for Adjunct Instructors has drastically declined as well. No classes were available in the Summer term, and the projected enrollment for Fall is still very shy of the desired quota. With that being the current situation, I am now seeking steady, meaningful, gainful, employment in a career area in which I can use my finely honed skill set such as Receptionist, Administrative Assistant, Medical Assisting, Success Coach, Surgery Scheduler, Teacher .... and perhaps something more that I have yet to discover! Adjunct Instructor Medical Assisting Program

I enjoyed helping to pilot the Medical Assisting program with FGC. Unfortunately, the college could not obtain sufficient student enrollment to justify the program past 6/2019 and it closed. Adjunct Professor Of Psychology
-
Aug 2017 - Jun 2019
The academic team in the Division of Behavioral Arts and Sciences at Santa Fe College were absolutely wonderful to work with! I will always have a fond place in my heart for Dave Tegeder, the Dept. Chair and Mikayla Robinson the Dept. Assistant, both of whom tirelessly and patiently serve a faculty group of 50+ in numbers. As is typical for Adjuncts, my course load depended upon student enrollment. Sometimes I taught up to 4 classes with 120 students and in the summers, I may have taught one class with 12 students. Every class was special in its own way to me, loaded with meaningful experiences and celebrations for student success. I left this position only due to my husband's transfer to Knoxville, TN VA Medical Clinic. Our relocation to the Knoxville area is going to be our last ever as we LOVE IT HERE! We are putting down roots for future generations with one son stationed at Cades Cove as a Federal Law Enforcement Officer, another son in Asheville at Davita Dialysis as an RN, and a sister and a brother relocating in the vicinity as well! Looking forward with excitment! Show less

My career as a Heald College employee was multifaceted. Initially, after close to a year in a faculty role, I was offered a full-time position as 'Program Director I' at the Rancho Cordova campus. In addition to overseeing the Healthcare programs, I continued to teach intermittently during this time. Over the next few years, I expanded my responsibilities and services, receiving a promotion to a Program Director II position. Moving forward, the college began to experience financial hardships with cutbacks and talk of closure. I was graciously offered a position as an Online Psychology Instructor for a another year, with the idea that the Online portion of the college could possibly remain in tact. Unfortunately, though the college fought through many major legislative and financial challenges, it ultimately closed its doors in 2015. My career roles at Heald college were very rewarding, full of rich experiences and professional growth, and my work record and well-regarded reputation at Heald College allowed me to be welcomed into a variety of positions, according to campus needs.
