• Direct nonprofit coastal watershed protection organization, including budget management, grant writing, and public outreach to further the mission and goals of Salem Sound Coastwatch • Coordinate with local stakeholders, including schools, municipal officials, state and federal agencies, citizen groups, businesses, regional nonprofits, to implement the Mass Bays National Estuary Program’s Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan • Provide technical assistance to the Salem Sound communities in activities such as environmental monitoring, wetlands protection, stormwater management, climate coastal resilience, public education and outreach • Implement and promote lecture series: “Underwater in Salem Sound” with the Marblehead Abbot Library and “Climate Change in New England” with the Salem Maritime National Park Service, plus numerous educational presentations on such topics as “Ocean and Climate Change,” Flooding In Peabody's North River Watershed,” and “Soak Up the Rain and Slow the Flow” • Develop, coordinate, and promote programs including volunteer-based environmental monitoring and education on programs such as environmentally-friendly gardening practices, wetlands monitoring, marine invasive species, low impact development and stormwater outfall sampling • Promote public awareness and understanding to restore and protect the resources of Salem Sound through community outreach, public education, community events/meetings, public presentations and regional planning
