It was a pleasure working with Barb, she is an exceptional Technical Engineer, great at problem solving, and fast resolution when things get difficult. She communicates well, and contributed greatly in developing and improving the process we used to upgrade Horizon Clinicals, she also identified a problem, and worked with Development to fix the McKesson Surgical Manager Integration with Horizon Clinicals. I would certainly work with Barb again if given the chance, and would recommend her to any organization in need of bright engineer.

    • Technical Healthcare IT Consultant
      • Sep 2014 - Present

Considering Technical Consulting opportunities as an independent contractor [1099 or W-2] to use my experiences with software and hardware in client-server environments. Prefer Healthcare opportunities, but am open to other opportunities. Apply my Public Speaking skills to promote products or services in a Public Relations role for Healthcare providers [make use of the 20+ years experience teaching, coaching and mentoring as a member of Toastmasters International.] My most recent experiences include: 1. Provided Technical Consulting Services and support using SQLdeveloper (Oracle DB), Linux, and custom applications for a collection of hospitals moving from McKesson Horizon Clinicals Core Clinicals to Epic Core Clinicals software. 2. Provided Technical consulting services for McKesson Horizon Clinicals (HC), Business Insight (HBI) and Performance Manager (HPM) applications which assist hospitals to select, setup and analyze scorecard measures to determine compliance with ARRA regulations. 3. Creation or execution of Oracle SQL scripts or statements to produce MU Healthchecks in Excel format which allowed customers and McKesson analysts to troubleshoot scorecard configuration and charting links. From these reports we could determine if the issue was with the data in the Oracle database, the software, the scorecard build, the Automated Software Engineering (ASE) views, the Clinical Technology Manager (CTM) version, etc. 4. Relay Health Direct Exchange setup and configuration. Patient HL7 Messages from ancillary systems, such as Lab and Rad systems, would be sent to the Oracle database via the customers' Interface Engine for inclusion into the patients' Consolidated Clinical Document Architecture (cCDA) documents. These patient records would then be transmitted to the Relay Health Direct Exchange repository. I would work with the customers and analysts to resolve issues.
