Barbara's heart and soul are placed into her planning projects to deliver some of the best planning work I have seen in my seven years as a Transportation Planner. She is committed to the welfare of elderly and disabled persons through her work on the Sacramento Area Human Services Coordination Plan. The plan brings together all of the human service agencies in the Sacramento Urbanized Area to foster coordination of transportation services. It is an honor to work with Barbara on a daily basis during my three years at SACOG. Her integrity and ethical traits shine in her projects.

SACOG is a Regional Transportation Planning Agency (RTPA) and Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO). I have worked at SACOG as a planner for sixteen years. My first experience was working on the demographic projections for the six county SACOG region. I now work mainly on transportation planning issues focusing on public transit planning, and the Capitol Valley Regional Service Authority for Freeways and Expressways relating to call boxes and 511 services. I was an intern at the City of Milpitas, CA working with the transportation planning staff, and I was eventually offered a limited term position in the planning department. I worked on various transportation demand management projects while with Milpitas, and as a Junior Planner I help research and draft a winter wood burning/spare the air ordinance. I worked at the Center for the Development of Recycling, which is located on the San Jose State University campus. I worked on researching, editing and assembling a regional guide to recycling in the south SF Bay Area. I also answered emails and phone call from the public regarding the availability of recycling services available in their areas.
