  I am the founder and partner with @Joni Dobson and @Barbara MacFarlane at Legate Personal Injury Lawyers. My practice concentration is with infants, children and youth who are injured through car crashes, recreational mishap, occupiers liability and medical mistake. My clients are catastrophically injured. I have represented compromised infants with cerebral palsy, pre-schoolers who have been severely injured in car crashes, babies who have not been attended to properly following birth, and young people suffering un-diagnosed stroke, among others. I chaired a program put on by the Law Society on representing injured children. My paper has been cited and reissued by legal organizations and will appear in a leading motor vehicle litigation practice text.

  In December 1996, I started Legate & Associates, a sole proprietorship of me, one associate and two clerks. It has grown over the years and became a Professional Corporation, then a partnership with my wonderful partner, Joni Dobson. We have 5 lawyers, 2 articled students and a staff of 30. Our contribution to the practice of personal injury has included leadership roles in the Advocates Society, Law Society (specialists designation committee) Ontario Trial Lawyers Association and teaching in every legal CPD provider in the province, and some in the US and across Canada.
