Bio
Joel Faflak
I have known Barb since she was my Teaching Assistant for a large-enrollment English class. She was professional and engaged in every way, and in fact could have taught the course herself. She has since then been my colleague in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, where her teaching in our Film Studies program, now a part of my department (English and Writing Studies), especially its Year One foundations course, has been a key factor in that program's success. She's a great teacher, researcher, and professional. We need more of her kind.
Manina Jones
I know Barb as her PhD supervisor and as a colleague at Western. Barb is a superb writer and researcher. She is known by her students as an outstanding, dynamic and devoted teacher in a wide range of subject fields. I consider myself lucky to have had the opportunity to get to know Barb’s warm, engaging personality, collegial spirit, and fruitful research.
