The IIAC's Ian Russell summed up the investment dealer environment in three words in his March 2018 "Letter from the President": BUSINESS PRESSURES RELENTLESS. He wrote of “…Operating costs coinciding with weak resource markets and poor investment banking conditions in the small and mid-cap corporate sector.” We can’t change markets and we can’t improve investment banking conditions, but the IIAC can help with operating costs by finding and working with service providers that will offer the IIAC’s small and mid-sized independent dealers – hit far worse by current economic circumstances – services at rates reflecting scale economies enjoyed by competitors.
