  • Designed classes, programs and workshops for elementary and middle school aged children for afterschool and weekends occurring both onsite and off. • Developed lessons and served as teacher for the museum’s Art Matters program, an after school outreach initiative that serves underserved children at venues including Boys and Girls Club, Roanoke City Schools, Roanoke Redevelopment and Housing Authority locations and Carilion Children’s Hospital. Also supervised one part-time Art Matters Coordinator. • Developed and managed the museum’s annual summer camp programs for children ages 5-14. • Developed and implemented the museum’s Art & Literary program for pre-school, kindergarten and 1st grade students, which uses story book reading and art-making activities to teach Virginia Standards of Learning. • Oversaw the operations of Art Venture, the museum’s interactive gallery and art center for children and families, including developing all Art Venture programs, managing part-time employees and annual budgeting, created employee manual for Art Venture space, ordered and maintained supplies, created activity boxes for teaching art concepts to be used with scheduled groups, created plans for updating and changing out areas of the interactive gallery. • Managed the museum’s Family Day program, including developing the educational program for each quarterly Family Day, hiring performers, training and overseeing volunteer and staff, and budgeting. • Trained docents to assist with programs I oversaw. • Created cross-curricular SOL based lesson plans for elementary students for the museum’s website and for use in museum. • Created and maintained budgets for all programs under my supervision. • Developed and gave tours for school groups and general public. • Developed patch programs for Girl Scouts, including an all day Art Immersion program for Cadets. • Developed Scavenger Hunts and activity sheets to be used by children and families in the museum’s galleries.
