  Being leader of a department of 60+ engineers, means that I am responsible for- functional leadership to make sure that the output of the teams is on the highest quality within the usual targets (scope, cost, time) - line management where the most important is making sure that all colleagues are competent and motivated The department acts as a development center being responsible for embedded, safety critical electronic product development and product management also.As part of product management, the department is responsible for the complete product lifecycle from creating a product idea, until the end of life. Any changes on the products or a new product idea can initiate a product development project. Those product development projects are covering the whole lifecycle from definition of system requirements and architecture, definition and development of SW and HW components, integration and highly automated testing until assessment by external authorities like TUV against relevant functional safety standards.
